FAQs

Is this a structured environment? Am I free to come and go? Or is it more like a treatment center?

  • Yes, it is a structured recovery house environment, but it is absolutely not a treatment center or medical facility. The Gratitude House is a family-like dwelling in which residents live with other people who are committed to remaining in recovery. Provided you are fulfilling your duties and responsibilities you are free to come and go as you please within the curfew limitations.

Are there rules?

  • Like any structured environment, there are rules for residents. These serve as a way to help the individuals succeed and protect the safety and sanctity of the house.

How long will it take for me to start living at The Gratitude House?

  •  It could be as quick as the same day. It totally depends upon each potential resident’s circumstances, time of day, availability of house managers to perform intakes, etc.

Do I have to work? Can I move in without a job?

  • Yes and Yes. Every resident is required to work at least 30 hours per week either at a job, job-hunting, school, or volunteering.

What medications do you allow?

  • Residents may not take or have medications with potential for abuse. We do allow antidepressants but are not equipped to allow anti-psychotic or narcotic medications.

Cost

The residential fee is between $130- $150 a week depending on location. This includes everything except your food, toiletries, and clothing (although we will help you obtain those things as well!). A minimum of $300 is due before move-in.  We accept state funding and work with many other funding sources to help you get started in your stay.
